I am a Skate Canada Canskate Certified Coach and have a NCCP Primary STARSkate (Level 1) Trained Status. I am qualified to take on private lessons for the Canskate, Junior and Intermediate A sessions.

Skating and Dance have always been big passions of mine!

I bring my positive attitude, encouragement, my knowledge and my love for the sport to each session and private lesson. My goal is to inspire young children to love skating whether they choose to pursue figure skating or hockey. I am committed in helping each skater reach their fullest potential.

I am in my 3rd year at Wilfrid Laurier/Nipissing University studying Concurrent Education.

  • I am so happy to be coaching at the Brant Skating Club this year, and look forward to getting to know everyone!
I have close to thirty years of coaching experience, and have loved every second of it. I have a growth mindset, and have learned that the more I coach, the more I need to learn about coaching. I believe we can all be better, learn more, and do better, and I strive to teach excellence, empowerment and life lessons to my students.
I have taught and developed regional, provincial and national medallists, as well as countless gold test skaters in all disciplines, but especially love competitive singles. I love developing athletes over the long term, seeing them grow into well rounded happy athletes is the best reward a coach can have. I also love the challenge of developing creative and efficient programs for skater development, and am Co-Founder and Director of the Alpine Training Centre in Alberta, an intensive off season training camp for skaters in the Bow Valley area of the Rocky Mountains from 1999 to 2010.
I am Level III Certified in Singles and have finished eight of my Level IV tasks. I have an Honours Bachelour of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, where my area of interest was motor learning and neuropsychology, as well as sociology and sport psychology courses from the University of Calgary.
I am currently enrolled in the Applied Learning Disability Specialist program at Cambrian College where I am learning many things about how to work with students with learning disabilities and processing issues.
I am experienced teaching every aspect of skating, from off ice classes entailing jump classes, conditioning classes, and mental training, to on ice classes entailing edges and turns, conditioning, and theatre, to Dartfish and video analysis, and finally choreography for singles and ice show numbers.
Looking forward to a great season!
