What is CanSkate?

In the CanSkate program, skaters rotate between coaches during each session and can earn badges (Stages 1 through 6). This program is designed for skaters who have an interest in pursuing an ice sport.

This is a Skate Canada National Program. Each session runs for 50 minutes in length. Skaters also have the option to participate in our annual carnival show, Flashing Blades at the end of our season.

Through this program, skaters will develop a strong basic skills for skating, such as control, agility and balance in our CANSkate programs. CANskate uses a nationally-tested, proven curriculum that guarantees skater success.

Our small class sizes keep kids on track and excited about learning how to skate, as well as provide individual attention, letting skaters progress at their own speed through the levels. Each lesson provides enough time for developing and practicing new skating skills, and provides incentives to keep kids motivated.

CANSKATE, Ages 5+
This program is intended for skaters aged 5 or older as of December 31 and who have not passed Stage 6 in the Canskate program. Skaters are placed in groups according to their ability. Group instruction and supervision is provided by professional coaches and qualified Program Assistants.
