(Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition)
The introductory level for all figure skating programs is the Star 1-5+ program.
This program is intended for skaters who have passed Stage 6 of the CanSkate program. Skaters are placed in groups according to ability. Group instruction and supervision is provided by professional coaches. Skaters will develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of stroking, ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system. Availability of program is subject to registration.
Off-ice Training
Off ice training is a vital part of the sport for skaters at the Star level and above. It provides an individualized conditioning, fitness, and endurance program and is recommended for all Star skaters. This program is scheduled before or after each ice session (see schedule). Off ice programs are included in the fee structure for skaters Star 1 to 5+.
